Walk
and Talk Report - June 2007
Walk
and Talk poster
Week One was great with about 20 people turning
up. The weather was lovely, the atmosphere friendly, and we enjoyed
the acrobatic displays from the martins and swallows and beauty of
a flotilla of fluffy cygnets. People met old friends and also got
to meet some new people, and The Buck’s Head Pub turned out
to be a friendly choice in terms of getting a drink or bit of lunch
afterwards.
Week Two was kyboshed by the rain, with Anna and
a few hardy souls who turned up dashing to the dry safety of Sprinter’s
Café rather than taking on the storm. Given the likelihood
of occasional terrible weather, it’s best to presume that the
walk won’t go ahead on days when it’s pouring down. Also
do bring wellies or boots after a rainy period as the path can get
very muddy in places.
Hope to see you this and every Thursday over the
summer for more walk and talk. All you have to do to be involved is
turn up. We set off at 11.00a.m. from the bottom of the steps to the
footbridge by Frankwell car park.
