Waiting Times across the Department

Counsellors in general practice. Telford & Wrekin GP Counsellors: the average waiting times vary from the lowest 3 weeks to 22 weeks, with an average waiting time of 13 weeks.Waiting times for Shropshire County PCT GP counselling 15 weeks with range of 2 - 35 weeks

There is a 6 week wait for an appointment at Chaddeslode House
and a further wait of about four months if you need individual counselling.

There is a 7 month waiting time at Dawley, although it is usually 6-8 weeks or less for some of the groups

There is a nine month wait for CBT.

If you are as concerned as we are about these delays please contact us , and we can advise you how to make your concern known. It is worth knowing that many psychological services have waiting times of over a year. Our department, nonetheless, still wants to improve.

The large numbers of people working in the Department can give the impression that waiting lists should not be a problem. Most of these people are, however, part-time. Some work for us only a half day per week. Dawley Centre, for example, receives up to 100 referrals a month to only 6 therapists. Please check waiting times if you are considering referring yourself or a client to the Department.
