Dr
Tina Griffiths
Consultant Psychiatrist/CAT
Therapist
I have lived and worked in Shropshire for 25 years and am a Consultant
in ‘General Adult Psychiatry’. I developed a special interest
in psychological therapies and undertook a training in Cognitive
Analytic Therapy (CAT) whilst a junior doctor. I am fortunate to
be working exclusively within the Department of Psychological Therapies
now, the equivalent of 3 days a week.
One of those days is spent working for the Eating
Distress Therapy Service, using a broadly CAT approach with the clients
I see and also contributing to management decisions within the team.
My other days are spent training current junior doctors in psychological
therapies and in supervising staff within the department who have undertaken
the Practitioner Training in CAT which we ran in Shropshire some time
ago. I am also running a pilot project in North Shrewsbury Community
Mental Health Team, supervising team members using ideas from Cognitive
Analytic Therapy, to see if staff find this a useful method of supervision.
I love living in Shropshire and enjoy cycling, hill
walking and playing badminton to unwind.
