Profiles
ROSEMARY
CORKE
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
I work here as the team leader of the Mental
Health Liaison Service and I am coordinator of the
Psychological Trauma
Response Team. In order to be successful in these roles I think
a lot about how people survive or even flourish in large organisations
such as the NHS. My knowledge has been gained from practical experience
supported by professional training and private study. I offer consultation
to a variety of staff and am always pleased to discuss organisational
process with anyone who is interested.
TONY
MARRS
Clinical Nurse Specialist
I currently work at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford and offer
a service to patients that have been admitted as a consequence of deliberately
harming or injuring themselves. My role is very much based on empowering
patients and acting as an advocate for those individuals who may feel
that they do not have a voice.
The essence of my role
is listening to the often-traumatic stories that individuals have to
tell in relation to why they have chosen to harm/injure themselves.
Emotional and psychological help, safety, survival and risk are also
other key factors that I attempt to consider and juggle with on a daily
basis.
My past experiences have been gained from working as a mental health
nurse in a GP practice and Community Mental Health Team although I have
also worked as a general nurse in hospitals in South Manchester. Being
a glutton for regular academic punishment I am just about to complete
the City & Guilds 730-7 Adult Education Teaching Certificate. However,
on a lighter note I am married with 3 children, enjoy gardening but
don't have 'green fingers' and passionately support Shrewsbury Town
FC.
