5. How can a referral be made? The referrer can telephone or bleep workers in order to discuss someone, or if unavailable, can leave contact details on an answerphone. Alternatively, referral forms are available on wards. The service also attempts to be proactive and daily contact is maintained with the majority of medical wards so that face-to-face contact can be initiated in relation to verbal referrals being made.
