I work in a community team covering the North Shrewsbury
area with adults up to the age of 65 years. I work part-time alongside
Cailzie Dunn, clinical
psychologist.
I completed my first degree in Psychology, then
later an MSc in Psychological Research Methods. I completed my Clinical
Psychology training (ClinPsyD) in 2001 at Birmingham University. I have
worked in the public sector since 1986 – mostly in the NHS, but
also in a Community Health Council (as a service user advocate).
When offering therapy I work with individuals, and
I am most informed by psychodynamic ideas. However, I do acknowledge
that social, financial, political and other influences impact greatly
on the situation and state each person finds themselves in.
I enjoy doing research as long as it can be directly
useful in making services more helpful (or less harmful).
