I work in the Liaison
Mental Health service for half the week as a Clinical Health
Psychologist. This includes seeing people for brief psychological
work (up to 4 sessions) following a referral from the clinical
nurse specialists assessing people at the Princess Royal Hospital.
I am also involved
in developments with the acute hospitals about access to psychological
care when women are attending the hospital during the perinatal
period. As part of this, I take referrals from midwives and obstetricians,
often seeing people at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital or at Chaddeslode
House.
Read here my write-up
of a conference I attended in 2007 run by the BPS'
Perinatal Psychologists Special Interest Group.

For
the rest of the week, I work as a Clinical Tutor for the Shrops/Staffs
Doctoral Clinical Psychology programme which is with Keele
and Staffordshire University.
This involves helping
trainees in Shropshire have good work placements, and supporting
their supervisors.
See our Training
page.
