Parents, Partners, Family and Friends

Eating Distress Therapy Service -December 2004

November saw the launch of our Parents, Partners, Families and Friends (PPFF!) evenings, which we are now running on a regular basis. Monday 1st November was the first of these evenings which are open, not only to PPFFs of our service users, but also to those outside our service. The evening was a success, and something which is obviously highly valued – around 25 turned up in total, more than we dared hope! After half an hours general mingling, Lucy and Penny led a discussion on ‘Do’s and Don’ts of being a PPFF’, which generated extensive debate and questions.

Monday 6th December was our second PPFF evening. As anticipated, it wasn’t as well attended as the first, possibly due to the time of year. However, it was well received by those who attended. The evening centred round a discussion about food and diet in eating distress, with Annali Hindle, our team dietician, as well as with other members of the team. Of course, there was also plenty of opportunity for general mingling and discussion.

We last met in February. Have a read of how that went and of news of the next meeting
