Profiles: Dawley Centre
WENDY
BARNETT Head (IV) Occupational Therapist.
I've worked at the Telford centre (when it was called 'The Mount' and
based in Wellington) since 1986. My current groupwork includes Psychotherapy,
Relaxation, a Psychodrama
group and Anxiety Management. I use a client-centred approach when
working with individuals. I'm currently on a 2-year CAT (Cognitive-Analytic
Therapy) training. I've previously been involved with Psychodrama and
Child Sexual Abuse groups.
FIONA
HUSS
I work full-time at The Dawley Centre as Manager. My background is in
mental health nursing
and I see people on an individual and group basis. Although I have a
particular interest in
bereavement and work as a volunteer with CRUSE , I see people who have
a wide range of
emotional difficulties. My approach is eclectic in that I draw from
a range of different psycholo-
gical approaches in my work. I facilitate 2 groups. The first involves
working with men who have
a combination of mental health difficulties and physical problems. The
second group focuses
on people who have a variety of mental health problems related to a
variety of causes such as
relationship problems, bereavement and childhood abuse.

specialist in substance misuse but now sees people with a variety of
emotional difficulties.

and helping nurses
respond to people's emotional concerns.
