DAWLEY
CENTRE FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPIES
ANNUAL REPORT 2003-2004
RISK MANAGEMENT
All clients referred have
a standard risk assessment form completed. This is an on-going process
reviewed as necessary. Some clients have multi-professional involvement
and liaising with other disciplines, with client consent, is imperative
if the total care package is to be delivered.
CLINICAL
980 referrals were received
during this period, a fall of only 69 since the introduction of G.P.
Counsellors, highlighting the growing demand for this service. The DNA
rate averages 15 month, with notable holiday variations.
The waiting list for individual counselling is approximately 6 months.
Once a client is given an appointment, if appropriate, therapy starts
straight away with the clinician they have seen for assessment. This
prevents the client having to go through their issues, some of which
can be very difficult and painful for them, with yet another person.
Group referrals have an approximate waiting time of 8 weeks, depending
on when the referral was received and at what stage the specific group
is nearing completion. 318 clients have attended group therapy this
year.
Staff Counselling is also part of the workload.
STAFFING & MANAGEMENT
There is 6.05 WTE clinical
staff with 1.6 WTE administration support. .25 Of the clinical staff

sickness levels below national averages. Below is the breakdown of staff;
