Annual Report 2004-2005 Craig Newnes

This report covers the period April 2004 – March 2005. Due to an RTA in December 2003, I did not return to work (part-time with absences covered by annual leave) until June 2004. Some of the activities listed below were carried out at home while on sick-leave. The majority have been carried out since my return in October 2004.

Research and publication

Directorate representative at Research Confederation meetings.
Research supervisor to Nurse Consultant.
5 papers (two joint authored) in Clinical Psychology
Three books as commissioning editor in PCCS book series.
Joint edited volume: Making and Breaking Children’s Lives (due September 2005)

Training and presentations

Joint organizer (with Dr Carolyn McQueen) Society and Context module of Shropshire/Staffordshire Clinical Psychology Doctoral course.

Organized BPS Psychotherapy Section conference on The Construction of Childhood, June 2004
Invited speaker: Lancaster Community Psychology Conference; Plymouth CPD event; BPS Psychotherapy Section Annual Conference (March, 2005); Launch of Staffordshire Directorate of psychological therapies; Launch of Shrops/Staffs Doctorate.

Two writing-for-publication groups facilitated (local and Stafford)

Workshops for Shrops/Staffs Doctoral course; Leicester CPD event on Prescribing for CPs; Birmingahm CP Doctorate on Critical Psychology (latter two with Dr Guy Holmes).
