I use an integrated approach to counseling with a largely humanistic basis but am also interested in existential and narrative approaches to therapy. I endeavour to use the relationship between client and counselor to help clients find whatever is needed to promote skilful living and healing. I encourage the exploration of a person's life in the present moment, with consideration of how this present is informed and distorted by echoes of the past and images of the future.
I am also able to draw on my previous professional experience as an occupational therapist mainly working in the community with people suffering from long term illness and disability.
