Consultant Clinical Psychologist

I work as a clinical psychologist with the NE Shropshire CMHT which is
based at Market Drayton. I also manage other local psychologists based
in CMHTs throughout the area covered by Shropshire County PCT. We
provide a combination of direct clinical work and indirect work such
as clinical supervision, consultation and training as well as
undertaking research.

I qualified as a clinical psychologist in 1990 having trained in
Newcastle upon Tyne. Since qualifying, I have worked with adults with
mental health problems, mainly but not exclusively in community
settings. I have worked in Shropshire for most of the last fifteen
years.

I have a longstanding interest in Psychodynamic psychotherapy and have
completed further training in this way of working, using both brief
and longer term approaches. I have a special interest in dissociation
and other long term effects of traumatic experiences and have recently
undertaken EMDR therapy training.

I am committed to the development and maintenance of a psychologically
healthy organisation, for the benefit of both service users and staff.
